– Legendary “Temple of Speed” to host final round of 2023 campaign
– Ferrari Driver Academy racer taking in tifosi hype at Italian Grand Prix
Dino Beganovic is set for a fitting climax to his rookie FIA Formula 3 Championship season as the Formula 1 feeder series concludes this weekend in support to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Racing for Italian squad Prema and representing the Ferrari Driver Academy, Beganovic – who also spends the season living in Maranello – is heading into a truly special weekend in more ways than one.
“It is going to be a very memorable weekend in Monza, rounding out the season on home soil for the team, FDA, and so many of the people I work with,” says Dino Beganovic. “Italy truly is my second home and of course I want to end my first season in Formula 3 on a high. I head into Monza with great confidence, knowing we can do a good job.”
Beganovic has seen previous success at Monza, scoring both his maiden Formula Regional European Championship pole position and victory at the venue, and will be hoping to build on that as he tackles the track for the first time in quicker F3 machinery.
Beganovic enters the season-finale holding sixth in the standings.
“The season has gone by so fast; it does feel a bit strange to already be here at the final round,” Dino Beganovic concludes. “It’s very exciting, though. We know that everything can happen at Monza with those long straights and all the slipstreaming going on. We’ve gone well there in the past, so I’ll take those memories with me into the weekend, and we’ll just push as hard as we can!”
Popularly known as the “Temple of Speed” for its long straights and flat-out nature, the Monza circuit sits in a picturesque parkland setting on the outskirts of Milan. FIA F3 will hit the track for the first time in practice on Friday morning, with qualifying taking place later the same day.
The final two races of the season are staged on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
