The FIA Formula 2 Championship announced today that the next two rounds of the championship will take place in Miami and Montreal respectively next month, marking F2’s first-ever visits to North America.
The new events fill the vacancy created in the calendar by the outbreak of the Middle East conflicts, causing the scheduled rounds in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to not go ahead as planned in April.
Round 2 will now be staged in Miami, USA, on May 1-3, followed by Round 3 at Montreal’s iconic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on May 22-24.
The championship will then return to Europe as planned, starting with the Monaco Grand Prix on June 4-7.
The North American events will also mark Dino Beganovic’s first ever races on the continent.
