Swedish FDA racer ready to rumble at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari
The second round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship takes centre stage this weekend -and it marks a special occasion for Dino Beganovic on home soil for Ferrari.
The Swedish single-seater rookie claimed a podium on his car racing debut at Misano earlier this month, and returns for another dash of action aboard his Prema Powerteam machine this weekend.
Playing host to proceedings this time around is the fabled circuit of Imola, a venue steeped in motorsport tradition. It is also a track strongly related to Ferrari, as the manufacturer’s headquarter is based just a short drive away in the town of Maranello and the official name of the track – Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari – stands in reverence to the founding family.
For Beganovic – who forms part of the Prancing Horse’s young-gun scheme, the Ferrari Driver Academy – that adds to the experience for the up-coming weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to racing at Imola for the first time,” says Dino Beganovic. “It’s almost a home race for us and I am immensely proud to be a small part of the Ferrari family. It’s special in that sense. Out on track, I expect to build on the lessons learned in the previous races. We had a podium at Misano and hopefully we can do at least as good now. Let’s see how it goes, but I’ve got a good feeling.”
Like always in Italian F4, three races are pencilled in for the weekend: one on Saturday, and two on Sunday. All three are streamed live at www.dinoracing.se.
Practice begins on Friday.
