– Swede looking to build on rapid Bahrain pace as FIA F3 resumes
– Australia next up for Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy youngster
Dino Beganovic is looking to get himself firmly on the scoreboard as the FIA Formula 3 Championship resumes this weekend in Australia for round two of the 2024 season, building on some highly encouraging pace at the Bahrain opener.
Beganovic laid down an immediate marker as he commenced his sophomore FIA F3 campaign three weeks ago, powering to pole position in the first qualifying session of the year. Although the effort went largely unrewarded in the two races, owing to an incident in the sprint and technical gremlins in the feature, it delivered a clear early message of intent from the Beganovic and PREMA Racing camp.
As Formula 3 action resumes this weekend at Melbourne’s scenic Albert Park, Beganovic is determined to maintain the early promise, returning to the Australian venue one year on from his first encounter with the highly popular street track.
“I’m really looking forward to this weekend, and returning to Albert Park which is a very special circuit,” says Dino Beganovic. “I really liked it last year. It has a little bit of everything, with plenty of high-speed corners while simultaneously being a street track in nature. We obviously had very strong pace in Bahrain, so I’m confident we can pick up from there, go chase after some big points and get ourselves back up where we belong.”
The FIA F3 weekend in Melbourne begins on Friday with practice and qualifying. The sprint race – where the top 12 from qualifying start in reverse order – takes place on Saturday, with the concluding feature race wrapping up the visit down under on Sunday.
