- Swede back behind the wheel of Ferrari’s SF-25 in Yas Marina post-season outing
- Latest F1 opportunity to follow Formula 2 season-finale this weekend
Dino Beganovic is set to take part in next week’s post-season Formula 1 young driver test in Abu Dhabi, driving for Scuderia Ferrari HP.
The outing will mark Beganovic’s latest opportunity to sample Ferrari’s current F1 car, the SF-25, following previous FP1 appearances for the Italian team in Bahrain and Austria earlier this year.
The Formula 1 young driver test takes place on Tuesday, December 9 – two days after the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – and will see Beganovic conduct a full day of running behind the wheel at Yas Marina Circuit.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to take part in the young driver test, and I can’t wait to be back in the F1 car with Ferrari,” says Dino Beganovic. “It’s always such a special feeling and I’m excited to work with all the engineers and mechanics again. This test is a rare chance to be in the car for a full day, allowing me to work on my own performance as well as assisting the team with their programme.”
The Abu Dhabi F1 test will follow on from the final round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship, which takes place at the same venue this weekend.
Beganovic arrives at Yas Marina on the back of a storming drive in last Sunday’s Feature Race in Qatar, where he set the fastest lap and led the majority of the way before a safety car intervention dropped him out of victory contention.
Now returning to the site of his first-ever F2 podium, scored in last year’s Sprint Race, Beganovic is aiming to bow out on a high as the 2025 campaign draws to a close in the United Arab Emirates.
“I’m feeling good about this weekend and returning to Abu Dhabi for the final round of the season,” Dino Beganovic continues. “I really enjoyed it there last year, getting on the podium in only my third F2 race, and Qatar last weekend was highly encouraging in terms of pace.
“Yas Marina is a technical track with a bit of everything. The last sector in particular is very demanding on the tyres and you need to have that in mind. Hopefully we can carry over our pace from Qatar and convert it into some strong results to round out the year.”
F2 running gets underway at Yas Marina on Friday with practice and qualifying. As always, the Sprint Race is slated for Saturday, while the season-ending Feature Race takes place on Sunday ahead of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Dino Beganovic heads into the final round of the season currently holding eighth place in the championship standings.
