– Swede set to contest partial Formula Regional Middle East Championship campaign
– Reigning Formula Regional European champion rejoins Mumbai Falcons for pre-season preparations in Dubai and Kuwait
Dino Beganovic will return to the Middle East for the third winter in succession to lay the foundations for another hectic motor racing season in 2023.
Beganovic, who is stepping up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship later this year, reunites with the Prema-supported Mumbai Falcons squad to contest parts of the imminent Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC) that begins this weekend in the United Arab Emirates.
The Ferrari Driver Academy member, who won the equivalent European Formula Regional championship in 2022, will hit the track in the opening two FRMEC rounds in Dubai (13-14 January) and Kuwait (27-28 January) to kick-start his season in preparation of his main FIA F3 campaign.
“I’m delighted to be back with Mumbai Falcons and to shake off some winter rust in the Middle East once again,” says Dino Beganovic. “It will only be for the opening two rounds this year, so I’m not going to race for the championship – instead the idea is simply to get some important track time working with my engineer ahead of FIA F3. That said, obviously we will do our best in these early races, starting this weekend in Dubai where I had a win last year. I can’t wait to head out on track!”
The recently rebranded Formula Regional Middle East Championship boasts a dazzling line-up of international single-seater talent for its opening round at Dubai Autodrome this weekend, featuring 28 cars.
Each meeting consists of three races, all of them live-streamed on the series’ official media platforms.
