- Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy racer back in action in Spain
- Barcelona rounds out intense Formula 2 triple-header
Dino Beganovic targets a return to frontrunning form as the FIA Formula 2 Championship continues in full swing this weekend in Barcelona, completing a triple-header of back-to-back events.
Following hot on the heels of a challenging Monaco weekend, Beganovic is determined to recover the kind of form that netted him pole position and a podium just one week prior at Imola.
Playing host to round six of the F2 season this time around is the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, located just outside the popular Spanish city. The track staged F2’s official pre-season tests earlier this year, making it a familiar venue with the 22-car field.
“I’m happy we are back racing again so soon after Monaco,” says Dino Beganovic. “It gives us an immediate opportunity to bounce back, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s good to be back at a regular kind of track as well, building on the confidence we gained at Imola which is not too different in terms of characteristics.
“Barcelona is a track that everyone knows very well, especially after the pre-season test there back in February. That means it will likely be extremely close in qualifying. Every tenth of a second will matter, but I do have a good feeling and I’m fully ready to go.”
Returning to the ordinary F2 weekend format after the uniqueness of Monaco, running begins on Friday with practice and qualifying. The sprint race takes place on Saturday and the feature race on Sunday.
