Dino Beganovic bounced back decisively in the Formula 4 Italian Championship this weekend at Mugello, scoring a double podium in changeable conditions.
Beganovic netted a P6, P3, P2 suite from the weekend’s trio of races, with the Swede now progressing into the top five in the championship standings following his strongest showing to date in Formula 4.
Racing at the Tuscany track took place in challenging weather, with the undulating circuit shifting between damp, drying and fully dry conditions throughout the event.
Beganovic, however, kept his cool in fluctuating circumstances to score a Race 2 podium in the damp and a Race 3 podium in the dry.
The Ferrari Driver Academy youngster originally finished third on the road in the final race, but was promoted to second after Prema Powerteam colleague Gabriel Bortoleto was handed a post-race penalty.
“It’s been a really good weekend,” says Dino Beganovic. “I’m really happy with this result. I managed to keep the weekend together a lot better here, taking a top three in qualifying, battling aggressively on the opening laps, and maintaining a competitive race pace. This was just the kind of outcome I wanted here at Mugello, and it’s nice to make some proper progress in the championship as well.”
The next round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship takes place at the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza in two weeks’ time.
