– Swede powers through from eighth on the grid in emphatic display
Dino Beganovic scored a spectacular first victory at Formula Regional level this weekend at the Dubai Autodome, powering through the pack in an eye-catching display.
Coming in round three of the Formula Regional Asian Championship, the victory saw Beganovic battle through from eighth in the reverse-grid second race of the triple-header meeting, the Swede perfecting a series of brave around-the-outside moves to complete his spectacular rise to the front.
To underline his pace, Beganovic also set the fastest lap of the race, cementing a successful weekend that also included another podium for P3 in the opening heat on Saturday – where the Mumbai Falcons squad picked up a momentous 1-2-3 result.
“Yes! That’s a moment I’ve been waiting for,” says an elated Dino Beganovic. “That was one of the best races I’ve driven. I knew I had to strike when the opportunities came up, and it was a lot of fun to make those moves stick! I am thrilled with my first win of the season and also, it’s been a really great weekend for the team. Hopefully we can keep up this momentum in the remaining races.”
The Formula Regional Asian Championship will stage its third straight round at the Dubai Autodrome next weekend, before the series concludes another week later at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit.
Dino Beganovic has now moved up to fourth in the overall championship standings.
