- Big weekend ahead for Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy youngster at the Italian Grand Prix
- Formula 2 campaign springs back to life at iconic high-speed Autodromo
Dino Beganovic is ready for an emotional weekend ahead as the FIA Formula 2 Championship resumes at Monza following the summer break.
While Beganovic has competed at Italy’s illustrious Temple of Speed several times before in his career, the up-coming visit will mark his first outing at Monza racing in F2 – the final step on the road to Formula 1.
Featuring in the main support category at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix will thus be a special moment for Beganovic, who has formed part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy throughout his entire single-seater career and recently completed two Free Practice 1 sessions for the iconic F1 team earlier this year.
Now set to race in front of the passionate tifosi as the season resumes after a five-week break, the Swedish driver is determined to make a lasting impact.
“Finally back on track and I’m just so excited going into this weekend,” says Dino Beganovic. “Monza is essentially a home race for me, having had the great fortune of being with Ferrari for so long. It is always a special feeling to race there with the Prancing Horse on the chest and with all the incredible support from the tifosi. I can feel the atmosphere as I drive. It is such a special place.”
Beganovic bowed out with some encouraging pace just before the summer break, setting the fastest lap of the Feature Race in Budapest. With two podiums to his tally so far in 2025 – including one at the previous Italian round in Imola back in May – the Swede is now hoping for a return to the rostrum at the fastest track on the calendar.
“The summer break was very well-needed for me,” says Dino Beganovic. “I was able to recharge a lot, spending time back home with friends and family. It has put me in a great place going back to what I love the most, which is driving fast cars. There is no better place for that than Monza – the fastest track of them all. I think we can expect the usual slipstreaming games in qualifying, but that’s part of the challenge of Monza. I can’t wait for it.”
Running will commence for Beganovic and his 21 rivals on Friday with practice and qualifying. The Sprint Race takes place on Saturday, while Sunday’s Feature Race acts as a prestigious precursor to the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix.
