– Swede out-scores title rivals as Formula Regional season resumes
– Ferrari Driver Academy youngster masters mixed conditions at Austrian F1 track
Dino Beganovic picked up where he left off before the summer break to further extend his Formula Regional European Championship lead with a controlled performance at Spielberg, Austria.
Beganovic maturely treaded his way through a weekend of mixed weather in the Styrian Alps, picking up a strong points haul for P4 in the opening race of the meeting which took place on a damp and drying track.
The Ferrari Driver Academy racer then upped the pace yet another notch on Sunday, topping his qualifying group and going on to finish second in Race 2.
The Austrian effort means Beganovic continues to build his championship momentum, taking his lead in the standings from 41 to 54 points.
“It was great to be back racing again with a strong weekend and some good points scored,” says Dino Beganovic. “It was a tricky weekend with the weather, but we managed it perfectly. We extended our lead in the championship, which was one of the goals going into the weekend, so now we keep our heads down for one last push in the final rounds of the season.”
Beganovic will next be back on track in Barcelona on 14-16 October for the penultimate round of the Formula Regional European Championship.
