– Four championship rounds crammed into next five weeks
– Austria first up in high-paced July stretch
Dino Beganovic returns to FIA Formula 3 Championship action this weekend as the Formula 1 feeder series begins a jam-packed month of racing.
With a full four championship rounds set to play out over the next five weeks, Beganovic and his rivals will be flat out in more ways than one as the FIA Formula 3 fraternity tag along with F1 on a high-paced European summer tour.
Kicking off an intense July stint that will also take in events in Britain, Hungary and Belgium, first up this weekend is the Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg. Beganovic has raced at the picturesque Styrian venue, laid out in a striking alpine landscape, several times before – picking up a second-place finish last year en route to the Formula Regional European Championship title.
“Finally time to get back to racing, and it’s going to be very intense,” says Dino Beganovic. “Four rounds in five weeks means this will be a critical month in the championship. I’m really, really looking forward to it and I feel in a good place. I enjoy these coming tracks, I know them from before, and I think they’ll suit us well. I’m excited to get out there!”
Beganovic enters the summer stretch sitting third in the standings, having enjoyed a strong first half to his rookie F3 campaign. The Ferrari Driver Academy racer has graced the podium at three of the four events staged so far, including at the most recent round in Barcelona in early June.
Running at Spielberg this weekend begins with practice and qualifying on Friday, followed as usual by the two races on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
