Last week, Monaco – this week, Circuit Paul Ricard. It’s a high-paced period in the Formula Regional European Championship, as racing resumes just a matter of days after the recent dash through Monte Carlo.
Dino Beganovic will be looking for redemption after the scary start-lap crash that ruled him out of the final race in Monaco last Sunday, and heads to the picturesque Paul Ricard track atop the French Mediterranean plateau hoping to return to podium contention.
“It’s good to be back in the car again just a few days after Monaco,” says the Ferrari Driver Academy member. “We tested at Paul Ricard before the start of the season and to be honest it wasn’t a good test, but we learned from it and since then we’ve gone a long way with the set-up of the car. It will be a lot warmer this weekend, too, so I think it’s absolutely everything to play for. I’m looking forward to the weekend!”
With Formula Regional having featured on the F1 support bill for its opening three rounds of the season, it’s a return to the series’ more traditional structures from this weekend on, with a less compressed time table of two practices, two qualifying sessions and – as always – the two 30-minute races.
Practice begins at Paul Ricard on Friday. Streaming will be available for qualifying and the races, with links at www.dinoracing.se.
