Dino Beganovic has completed his first-ever FIA Formula 3 test, racking up three productive days with Prema Racing this week at Jerez.
Beganovic, who currently leads the lower-tier Formula Regional European Championship, stepped up to FIA F3 machinery for the first time as the F1-supporting series held its official post-season tests in southern Spain on Wednesday-Friday.
The Ferrari Driver Academy Swede enjoyed an inspiring introduction to the 380-bhp F3 car, finishing inside the top six on the timesheets in half of the six sessions staged.
“It’s been a great experience,” says Dino Beganovic. “The car is so much fun to drive, and so different to what I’m used to in Formula Regional. There is a lot more grip, but also a lot more power; it’s just generally a quicker car all-round. It’s been great fun and I’m really happy with the pace, both over a single lap but also during the race runs we’ve done.”
With his F3 test completed, Beganovic’s focus will shift back to his Formula Regional title charge over the coming weeks, with two rounds remaining as he bids to defend his championship advantage. The FRECA season resumes at Barcelona on October 14-16.
